Who doesn't love a delectable, creamy French pastry? I know I do! And I've been craving one. So I came up with this recipe for Low-Carb Mille Feuilles! It uses fat head dough instead of puff pastry. And for the filling, I've used whipped sweetened cream. Or you can mix it up by using instead my crème anglaise (from my recipe for Low-Carb Summer Berry Crème Anglaise Tarts). Only 3.8g net carbs per slice, these save you a massive 57g over a high-carb version.
I haven't got a very sweet tooth. But I still think the cake, Cassata Siciliana, is one of the most wondrous foods on the planet! In this article, I'm not only telling you what it is, but also sharing with you the exclusive Cassata Siciliana recipe given to me by the Villa Ducale boutique hotel in Taormina, Sicily.
On a low-carb diet? Well you absolutely don't need to skimp on some indulgence. This luscious blueberry cheesecake saves you 53g of sugar and 200kcal a slice over regular cheesecake, without losing any of the flavour. Tasting just as good, if not better, than a high-sugar version, it's low-carb, vegetarian, and free of gluten, added sugar and artificial sweeteners.
Right, no frills with this one - it's Christmas Eve, so I'm running out of time, and so are you! But I am sooooo pleased with this. After some experimentation, this is my very own recipe for buttery, rich, low-carb rum or brandy sauce and it is absolutely AMAZING!!! And with just 5 ingredients, it takes literally 5 minutes to whip up from scratch. Free of sugar and artificial sweeteners, it's fantastic on my low-carb Christmas pudding!
This Christmas I've been converting some of the recipes that I traditionally make to sugar-free versions - as with this Low-Carb Cranberry Sauce. It's a complete cinch to make, and much nicer than shop-bought stuff. It's keto-friendly, gluten-free, free of added sugar and artificial sweeteners, and suitable for diabetics.
I'm in full Christmas prep mode now, which includes continuing my experiments with low-carb versions of traditional Christmas food and drink favourites, to make sure I can eat what I want come the big day. This recipe for a lovely light Christmas Pudding - low-carb, gluten-free, and free of added sugar and artificial sweeteners - is made so quickly that you can easily whip one up on Christmas Day itself!
These beautiful crunchy crackers are the perfect partner to a big glass of good red wine, plus paté or a cheeseboard, at Christmas (or at any other time for that matter). Made with just 5 ingredients, they are low-carb, keto, vegetarian and free of wheat, gluten, sugar and artificial sweeteners. But you absolutely won't know from the taste that they are so virtuous, and non-low-carbers will love them too!
Also just as fantastic when made with butternut squash, this pumpkin soup is thick, velvety, piquant, slightly sweet, and hugely hugely comforting. It's great as a meal in itself on a cold day, or as a sumptuous dinner-party starter. It's lower-carb, gluten and sugar-free, and can be adapted to be vegetarian and vegan. Enjoy!
