On 24 October I went to see the showcase of Tainted at The Vaults, London. It's a brand new musical, not yet in full production, and of enormous interest to me. That's because it features the songs of Soft Cell, and singer Marc Almond - and effectively they've been the soundtrack to my life! So in my opinion, … Continue reading Rock & Pop in Pictures – Tainted – A New Musical
On 30 September 2018, 80's synth pop duo Soft Cell played their last ever concert. It sold-out at the O2 in London - one of the UK's largest concert venues, holding 20,000 people. And it was beamed live to cinemas around the UK, and in other countries. I've been part of the cult of Soft Cell … Continue reading Rock & Pop in Pictures: Soft Cell: One Night, One Final Time, The O2, London, 30 September 2018
I’ve always been big into music. I go to lots of concerts and festivals. And I enjoy capturing the events in pictures. Photography has always been an integral part of my blog. I was enormously lucky to be invited to last week's London launch party for a new Soft Cell beer! Anyone who knows me knows I've been a massive fan of 80's synth-pop duo Soft Cell since I was a young teenager. And their new, limited-edition, Soft Cell beer is named Say Hello, Wave Goodbye - … Continue reading Say Hello Wave Goodbye: Attending the Soft Cell Beer (& Box Set) Launch!

Last weekend, 27 April, I went to the opening of Creative Rage - an exhibition of multi-media pieces by members of the UK-based progressive LGBTQ artistic community. If you want to catch it, it runs until 2 September at The Potteries Museum & Art Gallery, Stoke-on-Trent. Here's some of my favourite images, a bit of background, and a little practical information.
Also just as fantastic when made with butternut squash, this pumpkin soup is thick, velvety, piquant, slightly sweet, and hugely hugely comforting. It's great as a meal in itself on a cold day, or as a sumptuous dinner-party starter. It's lower-carb, gluten and sugar-free, and can be adapted to be vegetarian and vegan. Enjoy!
The fourth Folkestone Triennial contemporary art festival runs until 5 November 2017. Two weeks ago I downloaded a copy of the Triennial map and spent a happy day exploring this arty, bohemian, regenerating British seaside town while searching for the contemporary art installed all around it.
