Rock & Pop in Pictures – Tainted – A New Musical

On 24 October I went to see the showcase of Tainted at The Vaults, London. It's a brand new musical, not yet in full production, and of enormous interest to me. That's because it features the songs of Soft Cell, and singer Marc Almond - and effectively they've been the soundtrack to my life! So in my opinion, … Continue reading Rock & Pop in Pictures – Tainted – A New Musical

Rock & Pop in Pictures: Soft Cell: One Night, One Final Time, The O2, London, 30 September 2018

On 30 September 2018, 80's synth pop duo Soft Cell played their last ever concert. It sold-out at the O2 in London - one of the UK's largest concert venues, holding 20,000 people. And it was beamed live to cinemas around the UK, and in other countries. I've been part of the cult of Soft Cell … Continue reading Rock & Pop in Pictures: Soft Cell: One Night, One Final Time, The O2, London, 30 September 2018

How to Make the Best Pumpkin Soup

Also just as fantastic when made with butternut squash, this pumpkin soup is thick, velvety, piquant, slightly sweet, and hugely hugely comforting. It's great as a meal in itself on a cold day, or as a sumptuous dinner-party starter. It's lower-carb, gluten and sugar-free, and can be adapted to be vegetarian and vegan. Enjoy!

Travel In Pictures: Folkestone Triennial Contemporary Art Festival 2017

The fourth Folkestone Triennial contemporary art festival runs until 5 November 2017. Two weeks ago I downloaded a copy of the Triennial map and spent a happy day exploring this arty, bohemian, regenerating British seaside town while searching for the contemporary art installed all around it. Here's pictures of some of the installations, to whet your appetite in case you fancy doing the same, or in case you can't get there in person.
